The Event*
Denver’s freshest weekly DJ throwdown is here. BPM Battle is part open-decks, part competition, and all energy—bringing together rising DJs for a shot at local legend status. Think America’s Got Talent meets your favorite underground warehouse set.
Five DJs. Three judges. One champion crowned each week.
The Format*
5PM – 6PM // DJ sign-up in person at Mockingbird. Drop your name in the hat & follow @SoundTheory + affiliates to qualify.
6PM – 9PM // The Battle Begins: Five DJs are randomly selected to compete. Each gets 20-30 minutes to move the crowd and impress the judges.
9PM // Winner Announced. Then they spin the prize wheel at Little Wing with chances to win:
$100 Bar Tab
Opening set at Mockingbird or Beacon
Flash drive with exclusive tracks
Headphones & more!
9PM – CLOSE // Victory lap turns into the afterparty with a featured DJ closing out the night.
How to ENTER*
Arrive early. Sign-up opens at 5 PM.
Follow @SoundTheory + affiliated accounts.
Submit your DJ name, genre, contact info & original track (optional).
If your name is drawn, it’s battle time.
DJs may only compete once every 4-5 months to keep the lineup fresh.

Expect honest feedback—sometimes helpful, sometimes hilarious. Excellent sets get minimal talk & max applause. Mid-tier sets get coaching. And if it all goes sideways? You’ll walk away with laughs, tips, and maybe a flash drive.
